R L Institute of Management Studies, a unit of Subbalakshmipathy College of Science, conducted a two-day Intercollegiate Management Meet -“Knowledge Feast Contest – 2019” with gaiety and fervour from 21st to 22nd of February 2019. This event was aimed at providing a platform for the participants to exhibit their talents and opportunities for student-volunteers to hone their managerial skills as well. College campus festooned with colourful lights and spectacular decoration drew a festive atmosphere.
The event was comprised of various management events from major domains of MBA such as Finance, Marketing, Human Resources Management, Systems and Operations. Non-Management games included Solo Singing, Group Dance, Mime and Instrumental Play.
As many as 300+ participants from 19 colleges in and around Madurai district enthusiastically participated in the event. The inauguration function was started followed by the invocation of God. Ms. S. Thanga Shruthi, Student-Executive, 1st MBA, delivered the welcome address. Dr. K. Navarathinam, Associate Professor and Mr. S. Suresh Raja, Assistant Professor, RLIMS, enlightened the gathering about the intended cause for conducting the KFC-2019. The special address was presented by Dr. S. Pugalanthi, Deputy Director, RLIMS. Mr. M. Pavithran, Student-President, 1st MBA, took the audience through the rules of the events.
Contestants exhibited enthusiasm, dynamism, uniqueness and innovativeness in all the management events they participated. Student-volunteers of RLIMS demonstrated a sense of oneness and leadership quality in taking the helm of conducting events. In order to keep abreast of the latest innovative technology in teaching, recommended by NAAC, an ICT tool (Information and Communication Technologies) was also adopted in Business Quiz and the adoption of this technology facilitated smooth conduct of events.
Cultural programs under non-management events set the tone for the event as it evoked overwhelming participation and response from the audience. Spellbinding performance by the contestants kept the audience engaged. In partnership with Radio City 91.9FM, RLIMS invited Mr. R. J. Dinesh, to host a session with the audience which added zing to the event. A concept presented through Mime event instilled a spirit of patriotism.
Winners of the various events were awarded cash prize as a token of houring their potential. The team represented American College, Madurai, emerged overall winner of Knowledge Feast Contest-2019 and it shouted the joy of triumph. Participants made use of this opportunity to the fullest and they found this event fruitful and productive. The curtain of this two-day event was drawn to a close followed by the national anthem.
